Guess who got a new camera for Christmas? It’s actually my one present to myself, mostly as a reward for surviving this past year and also because my old camera has just about croaked. The old FinePix camera had to “think” for about 2 minutes in between shots and really, one can only expect the canines to stay still for a fraction of that time.
This new Canon PowerShot does just about everything…I think it even made me a cup of coffee a minute ago, but I can’t be sure. That may have been my smart phone. Gadgets these days…what can’t they do? This camera even has a GPS function built in, so I guess when I start becoming senile I’ll be able to determine if I’m still in my back yard.
Of course, trying to figure out all the features gave me a terrific excuse to snap some photos of my favorite subjects…my pooches. I think they all groaned collectively when I opened the package with the new camera inside. Too bad, woofers! Better practice saying, “Cheese!”
Aaaaah! Love Grimm`s floppy jowls squished between his paws. Beautiful shots. I, too, have a GPS on my camera and my thoughts were the same as yours about using it to find my way around when senility kicks in! Enjoy.
Glad I’m not the only one! What with GPS on the phone, cars and now the camera, how can anyone get lost anymore? Takes a little bit of the adventure out of life, I think. Oh, well. Just have to make our own adventures!
Great pictures
Thanks! I’m really liking the new camera–easier to use, faster and the pictures are much more clear and vibrant, even in sub-par lighting (which is how these pics were taken). It’ll be interesting to see what the other functions on the camera can do!
looks like the pooches got bored before you did. Nice photos.
Thanks! Yes, Grimm gave me the exasperated look (see photo #4) and then just went to sleep. Zella jumped up beside him and started snoozing and Charley, well, Charley just passed out on the floor. That’s okay. I can still takes pictures of them when they are asleep!
A new camera, how cool is that? I don’t need one right now but I certainly wouldn’t mind getting a new one.
Although saying “Cheese” when it’s time to take a picture around my dogs is a mistake, all sorts of hell breaks loose! I’d need to use a different word.
Haha! It’s funny to see which words dogs respond to best. My dogs start freaking when they hear “frisbee” and they come running to me and sit pretty as soon as they hear “treat”. Any time I start a sentence by asking, “Do you want to go….” they all perk their ears up, waiting for final part of the phrase. Nothing gets their attention better than that string of words!
To get a photo I will make all sorts of noises and say every word in their vocabulary to get the right shot… whatever it takes. But, some words cause chaos!
Love the close-up shots. If your pups are anything like Eko, they’ll soon know that when the camera comes out it’s time for them to pose! I always make sure that when my camera comes out, so do some treats, so now Eko loves taking photos.
I don’t know…Eko is sort of a pro! You have awesome pictures of him on your posts. Grimm is learning, although when he gets tired of taking pictures, he just falls asleep…or sticks his tongue out at the camera. When he starts the lip-licking and yawning, I know he’s getting stressed.
