I am currently owned by three pooches–Grimm, a 9 month old pit bull; Zella, a 4 year old pit bull; and Charley, a 14 year old cattle dog/catahoula mix (a “cataheeler” if you are into crazy dog breed monikers). My work in the veterinary field means I constantly see critters who need help or a new home of some kind. Having many pets and fosters over the years, I can appreciate the amount of love, sweat, tears and heartache invested in these critters by those who care for them. They are our responsibility, we are their voice, and with this blog I would like to explore the human/animal bond that exists. Let me know what you think…

foster mom=lots of love, sweat and tears, sometimes (my) blood and bruises. 🙂 i foster pit mixes.
Don’t I know it! Thanks for helping out the critters, especially those that need it the most. Being a foster is an important part of a pet’s journey to their permanent home. The only problem, however, at least for me, is that sometimes my foster friends become permanent residents. Oh, well, that’s life. Thanks so much for stopping by–Grimm thanks you, as well.
my fosters don’t stay for lack of room and finances. i have 4 rescued pets of my own, a 16 yo siamese, 2 foster dogs, a greyhound/great dane i rescued 3 weeks ago that will be going to the greyhound rescue in 7 days and a partridge in a pear tree. 🙂
You’re dogs are adorable! I can’t wait until I can get one of my own. I have 3 kitties, and an apartment, so a dog will have to wait. But someday….
Thanks! I kind of think they’re cute, too. Bet your kitties are pretty cute. I used to have three cats too, but old age caught up with them. My dogs and cats got along fabulously–hopefully someday when you’re ready for a dog, you will find the perfect one.
It’s such a great thing to foster pets! It takes so much time and space that you have to be a very special person to do that!
Cheers to you,
Courtney Hosny
Fostering can be a lot of work, but it also is very rewarding. Thanks for the visit!
Our dog Makwa had Addisons disease. We understand how dogs can require a lot of care but also they can be such loves beyond words.
Addison’s disease can be tricky to manage–I know the love and joy she brought you more than outweighed the frustration and heartache the disease brought. Thanks for the comment.
Our last Vet here was surprsied that she was doing so well he said she had the face of a five year old. Yes she really did bring us lots of love and joy I miss her. We learned to manage the Addisons disease. I became very good at knowing when she was off even the slightest.I could tell by her eyes and her tail. :+)
So happy I found you because you found me first! I’m loving your blog!
Thanks! I really think all your pups are too cute–obviously I’m biased because I love the breed–but they also all look so darn happy! They are so lucky to have had you find them.
[…] Grimm’s Furry Tail – Yup, still a sucker for cute dogs. […]
Love your pictures!
I nominated your blog for the Very Inspiring Blogger Award! To accept and participate, go here: http://tuesdaynightboyfriend.wordpress.com/2012/10/14/very-inspiring-blogger-award/
You are too kind! FYI, I’m inviting myself over to dinner. The food you make looks fabulously tasty! Afterwards, I think I’ll snuggle with Murphy for awhile–he looks fabulously adorable!
Feel free, I always make way too much food :)!!! Murphy does love to snuggle. I should warn you though, he also LOVES to gives kisses, and he assumes that all humans love doggie kisses!
Doggie kisses? No problem! Tell Murphy to pucker up!

Hi! I nominated you for a blog award! Check out the post below! 🙂

Whoo hoo! Thanks for the awesome award and congrats on yours! Grimm sends his thanks, too!
Lol ok thats it! I’m in LOVE!! Please Consider me an avid fan and loyal follower! I absolutely adore animals and being a K-9 mom myself, I know exactly how much love and happiness a k-9 kiddo can bring to someone’s life!! I absolutely adore your pictures of them!! You definitely bring out their characters and let them shine!! I adore Pit bulls and love playing with them! I love cattle dogs too!! My sister has one that was a show dog for years until she adopted him after the owner just didn’t want him anymore. It thrills me to no end to see others caring for and loving animals just as much as myself! I would be lost without my k-9 kiddo. BaileyAnne is my only child and I always tell her that she has to outlive momma because if anything ever happen to her, I don’t know that I would ever be ok again. Lol she just looks at me, licks my nose and then plops down in my lap as if she were still a lap dog instead of a 72 pound Alaskan Malamute! Thank you for this blog! It truly warms my heart!!!
Welcome to the world of Grimm’s Furry Tail! I love hearing from fellow canine lovers–BaileyAnne is one lucky pooch to have you as her momma and you to have her as your munchkin (even if she is a big munchkin). Maybe you just need a bigger lap! 🙂
I’ve been sharing the Rufus posts on our FB page – can you link me to the first one when you started fostering him? Also, it appears you have to update your About page because I see no mention of Sir Rufus. Still remembering Charley.
You are too sweet! I know I need to update this page, I just have been too lazy. Good thing Sir Rufus has you looking out for him! Here’s the link to the first post I ever wrote about him, just two days after he found me:
I hadn’t read that post in a very long while and, after re-reading it, I can only think fate was laughing at me the entire time I was typing. Such a sucker I am…but you know a little about that, too, don’t you? 😉
That top picture of Rufus had me hitting the follow button on your blog. Kept hoping you would keep him just we could stay in contact 🙂
PS: Wasn’t it you who pointed out that our cover pic still shows the Jeep with 12 stickers and not 13? I know all about being lazy 🙂
Ever since the “designer” breeds started showing up, I too give my mutts designer designations, e.g. German Shetweiller or Chocolate Chow Terrier.
I love your site and look forward to reading more.
Love it! I’m tempted to just rename mine Comfort Hounds. Hope you enjoy poking around in the Grimmverse and I also look forward to more of your stories!
Hi: just letting you know that I have been missing your posts and been thinking of you and praying that all continues well in your world.
Sorry for the late reply! Things have just been a bit busy. I will try to get back to writing again soon. Thank you for your thoughts and prayers…I wish the same for you!
